鎌倉時代初期の作とされる、檜材一本彫り製の坐像です。螺髪（らほ）を切付とした丈夫な構造で、内髻（ないけい）が高めで肩張膝張が大きく、安定した姿が美しい仏像です。
・（螺髪）らほつともいい、仏像などの頭の部分にある縮れて右に渦巻く巻貝の形をした頭髪のことす。
・（髻・もとどり）束ねた髪のこと
※文化財保護のため扉を施錠してあり、中が見えづらくなってます。
