浅間温泉エリアにある小さなお堂だが、下浅間の守り仏として祀られている。
お堂の中の格天井、三十六歌仙の絵が見事だ。
尚、浅間温泉エリアには、いくつかの薬師堂があるが、最も有名なのがこのお堂である。
お堂の建つこの場所は、「本州中央の地」でもある。
