ご本尊は千手観世音菩薩。無数の眼と手を持ち、人々のあらゆる願いを聞き入れ救済するといわれています。

神仏分離令により一度は廃寺となり、山辺小学校の校舎として利用されたこともあったのだとか。

真言宗智山派の寺院。山号は恵日高照山。本尊は千手観音。信州七福神の寿老人札所

春に咲くしだれ桜は、有名です。
