Randonnee Picnic 2018 in Matsumoto

Enjoy the outdoors with this two-day event catering to hikers, climbers, and general nature enthusiasts. Vendors will be selling camping, mountaineering, and other goods. There are also activities for children, stage performances that allow for onlookers to participate, and food trucks.

2018 Shinshu Wine Summit in Matsumoto


With around 140 varieties of wine from all over the prefecture, there’s sure to be a wine to suit your palate!
Other beverages such as beer and soft drinks as well as food will also be available for purchase. You can also enjoy live stage performances as you dine.

Prices: Free admission (a ¥1,000 refundable deposit is required to receive a glass). Wine and food prices vary, but wines start at ¥300.
Dates: June 1 (Fri) thru June 10 (Sun)

Weekdays: 17:00-21:00
Weekends: 11:00-21:00

8th Matsumoto Shiromachi Bar (Castle Town Pub Crawl)

Enjoy the sights and tastes of Matsumoto with the 8th crawl featuring 66 restaurants and bars between the station and the castle. Tickets are available in advance at participating locations. Look for the Matsumoto Shiromachi Bar banner outside. Only 1,200 booklets are available.

Price: Booklets are ¥3,500 in advance, ¥4,000 at the door (¥500 discount on non-alcoholic booklets)
Date: June 12 (Tue)
Times: Varies by shop. A handful of locations serve lunch and others are open from the evening until the early hours of the morning. Please note that items are available in limited supplies and locations will stop serving select items once they run out.

17th Nawate Frog Festival (Kaeru Matsuri)

Celebrating Nawate Street’s mascot, the frog. Fun for the whole family!

Matsumoto Sunday Market


A multicultural event showcasing local Matsumoto wares and featuring live music. They also offer activities for kids.

Prices: Admission is free.

Norikura Snow Walls


Despite the warmer weather, you can still see snow on Mt. Norikura until at least mid-June.
Please note that the Norikura Heavenly Marathon will be held on June 24 and may conflict with regular schedules.
